Day Thirty-Five

Someday's the best intentions just don't create a masterpiece and rather than digging around in the mud (wet paint) you have to go back to your roots and start again.
Drawing is fundamental to all my art and charcoal is quite possibly my favourite media. It can be so many things - from thick, solid and dominant to gentle, fluid and subtle. Totally underrated stuff!
As for this image, I just love the curve of her neck and the look in her eye. She was in the dressage ring at Hopetoun Horse Trials last year and I couldn't stop watching her test. Gorgeous!
