Website Overhaul & A Holiday From Commissions!

'Follow Me' and 'Sienna Oil', equestrian art, horse painting, dressage horse painting, 3day eventing, contemporary equestrian art

As you may have noticed, this website/blog is a wee bit out of date... well, okay a few years out of date! Yikes.
It is my intention to spend November having a complete overhaul of everything - This blog, my website and my facebook page

After a lot (and I seriously mean A LOT!) of thinking I have decided to only take on a very, very small number of commissions in 2016. This was a really hard decision as commissions have been the bread and butter of my painting over the last 5 years and I appreciate every single one that I have been asked to do. However, every artist needs to spend time developing their work and improving on their skills and because I recently became a mother (to a gorgeous wee boy!) my time in the studio has suddenly become somewhat reduced!
Before I gave birth, I actually believed that my boy would sit in the studio playing while I painted away! Ha! I now realise how naive I was.
Anyway, because of this I have decided to put a year aside so that I can concentrate on developing my work, exploring new mediums, improving my skills in other mediums, producing more work for galleries and just taking my art to the next level.
I am working furiously to complete all current commissions as soon as possible (I'm aiming for the end of the year).
If we have talked about a commission, don't worry, I will still honour this  - just drop me a line.

Blair 2015

So sorry for the delay in between these posts. I do always intend to make regular posts but by the time i've remembered my passwords something else is demanding my attention... like a small child.
Anyway, I promise I will try harder.

So Blair 2015 is coming around very quickly... just over 50 days to go. This is pretty much when the panic kicks in too.

My Stall at Blair 2014

It may not be obvious but the preparation behind having a stall at this year's event started in 2014!
There's filling out application forms, ordering of prints, cards, canvas prints and business cards, making new work, framing work, deciding on hanging method (this seems to change for every stall i've ever had), travel arrangements, accommodation arrangements, staff to organise, baby sitters to bribe, demonstration ideas to work on, materials to order, stall layout plan to do.... and so on.
So, I thought it would be a really good idea if i started a new project in the lead up to Blair!

Yes, I  am a little insane.
I'm just fine tuning the project's details but will have worked it all out tonight so will post it up tomorrow.
Oh dear! :)

Thanks for your patience!

This Year's Adventures Start...... here!

open studios fife artists equestrian art

It's that time of year again (already!)

There are only 10 weeks to go until artists all over north Fife open up their studios to the public.
It's a great chance to see behind the scenes and see artists at work. You can ask questions, watch demos, get inspiration and even buy some art work if you'd like.

This year I am concentrating on drawings, commission work, large scale equestrian paintings, small landscape paintings and even some printmaking too.
My studio will be open between 10am - 6pm on Saturday the 2nd, Sunday the 3rd and Monday the 4th.
If you'd like to see the other artists involved please visit:

Open Studios is the first event (so far) for this year, and there are lots of other exciting events coming up after.... i just need to confirm a few things before i can tell you all the details, but watch this space.
